Liquid Stills – A Portfolio Gallery

Photographers are self-conscious people – and so am I. In search for some vague idea of “perfection”, I have had various gos at publishing my images, but except for occasional contributions to my social networks I have pretty much kept my collection to myself. But there is a time when one discovers great Lightroom web gallery plugins at Photographer’s Toolbox and suddenly there it is: “Liquid Stills“.

The idea behind those shots was simple: how can you cross the border between stills and video within a single picture, make movement visible beyond standard motion blur and stimulate the viewer’s imagination?

My go at it was to set exposure to 10 seconds and add my own movement to the image, sometimes moving along with my subject, sometimes circling it. The images turn out to look like paintings – of the expressionist flavour, I would say.

Anyway, I like the result. Whether it is art or nonsense is in the eye of the beholder. Feel free to share your thoughts.
