- hugin Panorama
Hugin is the most complete open source photo stitcher for panoramic pictures and HDR images. In its latest version it includes a set of the leading open source components for image manipulations, such as autopano-sift or enblend/enfuse. - DxO Optics Pro
DxO Labs created an impressive image and RAW processor with a rich feature set that achieves amazing results even in auto mode. Their support team is very responsive and they issue regular updates. Too bad it does not support DNG. - Bibble
Bibble Labs offer a popular RAW processing and workflow software called "Bibble". Their system specs are pretty outdated - they do not list Vista or Leopard, nor a lot of camera models issued last year (2008), and their RAW support is poor. There is no release history available, so it is difficult to tell where they are at (last update seems to be from July 2008). All-new Bibble 5 has been announced a full year ago but is not yet available. - LightZone
LightCraft's LightZone is among the more notable image and RAW processing applications (supports DNG!). However, as of May 2009 they do not seem to have issued any updates since early 2008 and are unresponsive to requests. - OutbackPhoto.com

Mac
- Freeverse Apps: Think
"Think" lets the user focus on one active application by casting a backdrop over the rest (a little like Lightbox pop-ups). Very intuitive to use and very useful for concentrating on one particular task without having to hide all other apps. - MagiCal Menu Bar Calendar
Excellent addition to OS X menu bar with a clean but stylish interface. In my opinion, the best freeware calendar to complement Apple's system time without cluttering the menu bar. I recommend setting system time display to hh:mm and putting MagiCal right next to it with the current date. If you want iCal integration, though, you would have to opt for a commercial app like the fabulous MenuCalendarClock from Objectpark Software. - Jing Screencapture
Jing is a tool to record screen videos and make screenshots with annotations. Offers instant publication via Screencast.com. Very intuitive to use, tidy interface but with all the right features, even in its free version. - Growl Notifier
Growl lets Mac OS X applications unintrusively tell you when things happen.
Geotagging
- TrailRunner
TrailRunner Training & Route Planner is the most comprehensive application for handling map-based training diaries and routes, addressing both athletes and tourists with a uniquely integrated client interface. However, it is a good idea to look at the tutorials first, as the internal logic is not always self-explanatory. - 3D Live Map - Latitude, Longitude & Altitude
Interactive full-screen map that shows geographic coordinates (latitude, longitude) and elevation (altitude) for any location. Purpose is support for geotagging and general map usage. Provided as a free service from studio.messlinger.com; based on Google Maps and Geonames.org. - Raumbezug.eu

Service with intuitive interface for geotagging, geocoding, creation of geo-metatags and kml files. Unfortunately, it does not support altitude values (yet?). - loc.alize.us
