Migrating Lotus Notes Calendar to iCal

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

This may be a little off topic, but as it took me some hours to work it out and as I could find very few helpful resources describing the procedure, here is how I converted my archived Lotus Notes calendars to iCal. Mind you, this is specific to my settings and might not work for you. But if you have trouble importing Notes-created .ICS files to iCal, read on. (more…)

Geotagging and the Mac (5) – Google Picasa

Monday, October 5th, 2009

With the latest version 3.5, Google’s Picasa for Mac has finally emerged from Beta. As Google is renowned for visionary solutions and as the program very much mirrors the functionality of iPhoto, it is worth having a closer look at its geotagging capacity. Snow Leopard Performance Issues – Reinstall And Migrate

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Geotagging and the Mac (3) – iPhoto 09 “Places”

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

In the first review of geotagging applications for the Mac we will look at Apple’s iPhoto. Even though serious Photographers will prefer Aperture or Lightroom, iPhoto is very popular and has its merits in terms of usability. And its geotagging feature called “Places” has made a notable appearance when released with iLife ’09 recently. Does it do a good job, though?
